Etain, Alvor, Sigrid, and Dorthe returned to the family home. Once the others had left, Sigrid said, “Alvor, now that Etain is feeling better, why don’t we go downstairs, clean up, and get some rest? I don’t know about you, but I’d like our lives to return to the way they were as a family.”

Just then Julian came in and said, “I am here to spend some time with Dorthe to tutor her as promised.” Dorthe looked at her mother and said, “Mother, we just got back from the Ceremony! Can’t I spend some more time with Etain?”

Etain reached her hand out and hugged Dorthe then said, “You know I love you Dorthe, you are my personal leaning post when I need someone just to give me hugs and remind that I am a lot more like you and the rest then I realize. However, I need some quiet time to just kind of take it all in. Plus, Julian is very smart. You can ask him about anything from history, lore, politics and he even knows things about being a blacksmith and gardening.”

Dorthe said, “Okay, come on Julian. I have a place over here where we can sit and you can teach me whatever you like.” Sigrid and Alvor both smiled at Etain and said, “Thank you!” Julian smiled at her and then followed Dorthe over to the table where she did all her schoolwork.

Etain sat there and sipped on some hot tea thinking, “okay, so what now Etain?” She absently picked up some braided bread and cheese and began to just think a bit on what she might need to do next.

Also, “Why was Rosenlyn here in Riverwood, and where did she disappear to. I saw her watching us from outside the circle. I watched her as she smiled afterwards talking to herself a lot like I do and then she was just gone.” Maybe Alvor and Sigrid can tell me something more about her when they get up.”

She then thought, “Maybe I need to go to Whiterun and speak with the Jarl there. I am sure they are aware of what’s taken place here by now. Still, I need to give him a full account so they can thoughtfully plan on the defense of his city if the need arises.”

She began to go through a series of hand exercises. With each movement she spoke some ancient word. She did not know where it came from but as she continue, Dorthe and Julian stopped their lessons and watched her in silence.

A light began to form from her hands and then it expanded, and pop, she had just vanished suddenly from where she was.” Julian was up immediately calling down to Alvor and Sigrid. “I am sorry to disturb you, but you better come up stairs immediately.” “He heard Alvor, “We’re coming what happened?”, he called out. They came upstairs dressed back in their normal clothing.

“I was instructing your daughter about the different techniques used for smithing throughout the different holds and providences of Cyrodiil when Etain began to do something with her hands. Some type of specific movements. She spoke some words with each change I did not recognize. Then she just simply vanished right before our eyes. Proof, she was gone.” Alvor said, “Someone go to the inn, get Kyne’s Champion, and anyone else that is still around, we need to figure out what happened and what to do next.”

Dorthe said, “I’ll go and get them.” It was only minutes and The Champion, Delphine, Irileth, and others had come rushing in through the doorway. The Champion asked, “Tell us what you saw Etain do Julian and Dorthe too.”

Julian said, “Ladies first” and so Dorthe gave her account of it. When she was done Julian agreed with her telling of the event. Irileth said, “So no one knew what she said?” Julian replied, “No, they were similar to that of the Elder Language but yet again there subtle differences it!” The Champions said, “I am going to the grove to where the new tree now stands so I can communicate more clearly with Kyne. See if she knows anything about this. I would prepare yourselves for travel though. I suspect Etain just transported herself to another place.”

Julian asked, “She can do that?” The Champion replied, “she is learning there are a great many things of which she is capable. However, knowing Etain she will not be happy to discover one more thing that separated her from being normal like all of you.”

When Etain appeared again she was sitting on a tree stump at the campsite where she had met Rosenlyn before she knew who she was. There was something cooking in the kettle, so she had been here recently. Then she saw a note pinned to the lean-to where she had slept when she first discovered this place.

She picked it up and it read; “I have gone to Azura’s temple at the top of this mountain behind the campsite. Come to me there, Azura is waiting for you so she can talk to both of use. It’s important, afterwards we can return to the campsite and have some of my fine cuisine” Etain laughed at that. Then she thought, “I really like this Rosenlyn girl.” Then Etain thought, “Top of the mountain, well, its’ not getting earlier so I better get going. I’ll have to find my way up to this temple of Azura.”

People were organizing now back at the inn. Delphine said, “I think it needs to be a small party, a tracker, a healer, Kyne’s Champion when he returns.” Just then he came through the door and said, “Kyne told me she is at Rosenlyn’s campsite again. That is where she vanished away too. She also told me the hand exercises are those used by the ancient order of Dragonguard in Elsweyr.”

Delphine asked, “How does she know that.” Kyne’s Champion said, “Remember, we know nothing about who she was before, how long has she been traveling the lands with amnesia and where was she all that time?” Kyne has asked us to wait; she will contact me when it is time to move out. “

“For now Etain travels to the hidden temple of Azura high in the mountains above Rosenlyn’s campsite. Apparently the three of them are to talk some. When they return to the campsite we can leave to go there. Kyne said she senses her next stop will be Whiterun.”

Irileth said, “then I need to be one who goes with you! The Champion nodded his agreement then he said to Delphine. “Kyne told me to let you know the time for living in the shadows is gone now. Fulfill your duty and protect and guide her. Help her restore your ancient order as it once was.” Delphine replied, “Can that even be done? It’s been so long! We have lived in shame for an exceptionally long time now.”

The Champion of Kyne came over and hugged Delphine, this surprised her. Then he said, “She has come back to us to fulfill the covenant. Would you not like to be at her side when she finally ascends to the ruby throne in Cyrodiil?”

Delphine’s eyes were tearing up then and she said, “Please excuse me, I need some time to change into a different outfit before we leave.” She disappeared into her room and shut the door behind her. Kyne’s Champion told them, “She’ll be fine, but she’s lived in the shadows for an exceedingly long time as she said. You’ll understand when she returns. “

Julian said, “There are so many amazing things happening in such a short time. No wonder Etain needs Dorthe’s hugs so much. How lost she must feel at times.” The Champion said, “You need to come too Julian; she will need you in the days ahead.” Then he turned to Dorthe and said, “I am sorry, but we need to borrow your tutor for a bit.”

She smiled and said, “It’s okay, my friend Etain needs him right now. I would to anything to help keep her smiling.” The Champion bent over and gave Dorthe a kiss on the forehead, “You are special as Etain has said. May the blessings of Kyne be with you always!”

Irileth spoke with one of her trusted soldiers. “Make sure this gets to the Jarl personally, no one else is to see it. See if you can locate some of the Companions to go with you. We need nothing to happen to this missive. It is of vital importance. Now go!” The soldier took the missive and said, “Yes, House Carl, you can count on me to get it to him.”

After he left the door to Delphine’s bedroom opened she stepped out. Hadvar who was feeling lonely without Etain there said, “So, the Blades are not just a myth! Here we had one in our backyard all of this time. Delphine smiled at him and said, “Well I might be the last of them, at least for now.” Kyne said, “No Esbern is still alive I am told.” Delphine said, “What, we need to find him get him to us. I mean he is like Julian here but focused on the lore and history of The Blades and Akaviri.”

The Champion said, “I know but Etain has to be there or he will not come out of the shadows will not believe that any of it even matters.” Delphine said, “Okay, that actually makes sense but that is such good news.”

Etain was following the traces of Rosenlyn, the led up the mountain past a large cave entrance. She sensed a great deal of danger in there and continue to follow Rosenlyn’s trace. She came to a spot where there were some ancient logs set into a kind of stairway that led up the mountain. So she began to follow it up.

Etain reached what she supposed was the halfway point up. There were some flags, old and torn that were fluttering in the strong winds the blew against the mountain this high up. However, as she looked out across the lake, she thought, “This view is absolutely stunning. No wonder she loves this place so much.”

She thought to herself, “This trek is like the old pilgrimages of old that so many tales across Skyrim and Cyrodiil spoke of. This temple must be near the peak of the mountain. I have seen evidence and traces of lost lives here too! Also, the bones of Frost Trolls. Makes sense though on this cold snowy climb that they would be here.”

Etain made her way across some precarious stone outcroppings like left-over aches from the Dwemer of something. She looked up and at the end of some stone steps carved into the side of the mountain was an old wooden door. Thick it was and aged like something from a forgotten age.

She grabbed an old brass handle turned green from the moisture and cold this high-up. She pulled the door slipped in and as the door slammed shut behind her. There further in was a Dias with an ancient carved monument of Azura on it. All around the Dias were flowers.

In front of it Rosenlyn sat cross legged, with head bowed as if in deep meditation. She spoke as Etain approached, “Here take this flower and place it upon the alter. Then come and sit next to me. Azura has a story she’d like to share with us.” Etain took the flower and then knelt and bowed before the monument placing the flower carefully upon the raised Dias.

Rosenlyn laughed then, “You do know it is you that all of your sisters should be bowing to, ‘Etain, Saorlaith, Oralaith’ “Please don’t, you know I don’t want that, not from them, not from you, not from anyone.” Rosenlyn said, “That’s why we all love you so much Etain, because you who should not bow to anyone, want no part in it.”

Rosenlyn said, “Come sit with me.” Etain sat and then asked, “Rosenlyn, why the all the flowers?” Rosenlyn giggled, “Your innocence is blinding you know that! Come on Etain, my grandmother, Royze! It is in honor to her. That is what her name means, flower! She had not made the pilgrimage, but another did for her. Azura wants to tell you a story about them.”

A light appeared and the room filled again with the same misty starlight that was seen in the grove right after the ceremony. Then they both heard a new voice, “Sisters I have brought you both here to hear a story of someone that paved the path forward for you, Etain. They sacrificed much for you to inherit that which they knew could not be given by them.”

Etain and Rosenlyn both sat in silence so Azura began, “A long time ago back when Roselyn’s grandmother was still so young and beautiful, she helped a poor injured girl. Like you she bore the same scars across her shoulders and back, she bore them for all of those who would come after.” Rosenlyn’s grandmother had found this poor injured girl and then by chance a man came along the road below. The same road you traveled from the Standing Stones down to Riverwood. She called out to him by chance, as she knew she could not get this injured girl to her campsite without help.”

Etain asked, “How was she injured, I mean beside the scares she bore like me?” Azura replied, “The Thalmor were after her, and there was fierce battle a top the ridge above. She fought with the strength and commitment of six men, this lone warrior. However in the end, she slipped along the ledge and one of the swords pierced her armor. Desperate to survive she jumped off the ledge and allowed the limbs of the trees to break her descent.”

“Rosenlyn’s grandmother had been below and fired her bow with amazing accuracy injuring several of the Elven warriors. They could do nothing but back away for a while. Royze inspected her injuries and knew she would need help. Thus, this stranger came riding his horse, Princess Ali, up the road. She called out to him, and he stopped the horse, dismounted and came to her.”

“She begged him to help her. Told him about the injured girl, he never hesitated as such was his heart, he could do nothing else. He agreed to carry her back to the hunter’s camp near the lake. Royze had a boat waiting there. The got her back to this camp below and their journey began that night. Royze had heard the whispers from me concerning a treasure, of bags of gold, silver, and gems that those who had made the pilgrimage had left behind. “

“That treasure was not meant for me, it was waiting for one who would come, and with an open heart he gave most of it too her grandmother, Royze. When he arrived back down the mountain, he gave her the treasure, then a flower that had been left on the alter. Her heart was changed that night and she offered herself as payment.”

Etain said, “Really, she just offered herself up to some stranger?” Azura answered her, “Life was difficult back then, even more so then it is now.” Royze did not feel like he was a stranger anymore. They had spent days together taking care of the injured girl, slowly getting her better before that faithful pilgrimage to my temple.”

“You see, Royze had been touched by the kindness he show both the injured girl and herself. She had lost her heart to him but did not want to tell him. So she threw herself upon the winds of fate.”

Etain asked then, “Well, did he, you know?” “No, he gently told her he did it for her to help her start a new life in Cyrodiil. She said she never met anyone like him. He said my creed would not allow him to do anything other than he had done. He lived with loyalty, honor, truth and kindness at the tip of his blade.”

Rosenlyn then said, “Sounds like someone else I know, right Etain.” Etain asked, “What happen to them?” Azura said, “Long is their story and one for the ages, but the girl got better, Royze had gotten captured and taken to an old tower near the border of Cyrodiil to be tortured. But we helped her to escape. She made her way down to the Gold Coast, to Bravil, where after she helped the ailing King, they gave her an old inn. She runs it to this day.”

Etain asked, “Did they ever see each other again, this person she had fallen in love with?” Yes, but it was many years later. The girl who bore scares like you and this man had a long journey ahead, but somehow they fell in love with each other. Then after many horrible battles they made their way battling the whole way to the Imperial City and the seat of the Ruby Throne. They eventually had a daughter, and it was prophesied that she would bring about a golden age.”

“However it was not for her to do, she was to clear the way for another, you Etain, for it was always your inheritance to do so.” Etain asked, “Are they okay, this man, women and their daughter who gave up so much for me?” Azura replied, “Yes, they in time retired to a remote island where they live out their lives happy together. Like you Etain, she only wanted to live a normal life, get married, and have many children together.”

Etain asked, “What about Royze, Rosenlyn’s grandmother! How did they meet again?” Azura continued, “Once their daughter was born, the girl wanted Mara to bless her child. They both went to Bravil, I mean they were Emperor and High Queen of Cyrodiil by that time.”

Etain exclaimed, “Why is there nothing documented, written about any of this? “ Azura replied, “Because she did not want it to be so. They knew they had fulfilled their duty, and the foundations had been laid for the coming of another who would bring about the new age.”

There was silence for a moment allowing Etain to absorb all that she had just been told. “Anyway, when they arrived in Bravil, which is where the primary chapel of Mara is, they stayed at the inn that Royze owned. They all met that night. Fate had brought them all together again. You see the young, injured girl had never gotten the chance to thank Rose for keeping her alive. The next morning fate had played a hard hand against them all. The Morag Tong had tried to assassinate their young daughter in the Chapel of Mara. They failed but had succeeded in killing another who would have bared the child if the other two had not fallen in love. “

Azura sounded sad then, “Royze was never the same and eventually word had come to them in the Imperial City. He traveled to Bravil again and found Royze praying to Mara. Mara took mercy on them both and took the seed from this man and into Royze, thus Royze in time had her child of love.” Azura paused again! Then she said, “Eventually came Rosenlyn too!”

Etain asked, so what happened after that? What did Royze do? “ “For a long time Royze acted as the official Imperial Physician to the Royal House of Cyrodiil. But in time she had to leave as her condition became apparent. Anyway you should know that girl is my spiritual daughter, he became my champion and bore my sword with honor. His bloodline like yours was tied to the Alessian line of kings. He was special, like you.”

There was silence in the room then as Etain took it all in. Then Azura said, “Etain, you like them have a long road ahead, it will be difficult, feel impossible at times. But know we are there for you, all of us.” Rosenlyn leaned over and hugged Etain. Then she said, “Etain from our line to yours may you find the happiness you so deserve. As Azura has said we are here for you, always.”

Etain then asked, “Do these others know about me?” Rosenlyn said, “ Well, not at first but once you were awoken when your spirit walked the halls of Sky Haven Temple. The whole of Nirn knows about you now, Etain. The signs that occurred that day were seen in every country across Nirn. They knew that something had happened that would shake the foundations of the world.”

Rosenlyn then said, “Etain, just keep being you. Who you are, what you want to be, it is pure, it is right, and it will someday change the whole world for the betterment of us all.” They hugged and silence then and then fell asleep. Azura and Kyne transported them both back to the campsite while they slept.

When they awoke, they both heard footsteps approaching the campsite. Roselyn came and said to Etain. “Friends are coming, nothing to worry about. They are here for you.” Just then Hadvar, Irileth, Delphine, Alea, and Fanedal all arrived. Hadvar came over and hugged her, he said, “ Etain we were all so worried about you. We didn’t know what to do but then The Champion came back from speaking with Kyne in the grove he told us what had happened. “

Etain asked, “Where is he, Kyne’s Champion?” Hadvar replied, “ He went to pay his respects to a certain lady who carries a moon in one hand and a star in the other. “ They all laughed and Rosenlyn said, “Well breakfast appears to be ready for all us so…”

Hadvar said after some time, “Etain, you seem changed somehow!” She was sitting beside him, “What do you mean somehow changed?” Hadvar said, there’s a quiet stillness about you that wasn’t there before. I seem to feel it somehow. How is that happening?”

Etain leaned over and kissed him on the cheek then said, “One heart, One Soul, Oneself Ever More!” Hadvar said, “What does the mean, Etain looked over at Rosenlyn, grinned and said tell him?”

Rosenlyn giggled and said to him, “Etain told you she likes you, that she trust you, and…” Etain exclaimed, “Rosenlyn just tell him and quite teasing him so, “One heart, One Soul, One Together Ever More!” Etain then touched his forehead and a light shone from her fingertip. She then took a tear and touched it to his lips. He felt a tingling sensation and felt a part of her for just a moment. Then she jokingly said, “Seconds anyone?”

They all ate some more, and the mood was somewhat lighter. Then Irileth asked, “Where to from here Etain? We are here to serve and protect and guide when you ask it of us.” Etain said, “The next best course is to go to Whiterun. The Jarl needs to better informed. I have been told that he is a very honorable man. That means a lot to me right now.” Irileth replied, “He is, I would lay down my life for him!”

Then Etain stood and said, “Delphine, so you come out of the shadows!” Delphine asked, “Is that a question or a statement! Etain paused then said, “Both actually, I want to restore the honor that The Blades once held as protectors of the Empire. For me that means stay by my side, help guide me, respect my wishes, and fulfill your oath of old!”

Delphine was quiet for a moment, “You hesitate! Let me tell you a short story then, when I stood up high on a cliffside overlooking the Sky Haven Temple something happened, my soul separated from me and I walked the halls of that ancient temple, no blood seals forbid my passing, no shadows of the those that had worked there for a thousand years forbade my coming. I felt them all Delphine.”

She paused, and tears were welling in her eyes. Hadvar came and rested a hand on her shoulder, “Go on Etain, tell her the rest. “The long years of toil, the single-minded commitment, the honor they held before them with each stone that was laid, each chisel that was used, blood, stained those halls that no one could see, but I could! I felt their need to be freed, when I came upon Alduin’s Wall, I knew in that moment, all that was done had been done for me. They were simply waiting for the one who was bound to it through their inheritance.”

She lowered her head then, Delphine saw how hard this was for her. She came and said, “I am this day bound to your need Etain. Whatever I need to do, even give my life if need be.” Etain leaned over and kissed her on the forehead then she looked deep within her eyes to take measure of her commitment.” Then Etain said, “I freed them all, every last soul bound to that place in a single moment.”

There was silence then at the campsite for long moments. Then Etain said to them all, “I am bound to the path that has been set in front of me, I will not order any of you to follow. If you do so, do it for the love of each other, for the love of the beautiful world we live in, and do it for the love of honor. If that is what you wish, then follow me.”

She then stepped to one knee, and bowed her head, “Alduin is scared, he knows the spell of forgetfulness he placed upon me has been lifted. He knows that I am coming for him, to keep a promise to my father and mother. For I love this world and all the people in it. I will not let some spoiled child of my father take that from us. I am committed until the end, whatever that may be!”

Then each and every one who had come came bent down and kissed her on the head. Each one of them said, “We are bound in honor to your need Etain!” The red diamond of both her tiara and the one embedded in her sword came alive and it was heard.

“We are also bound to you our daughter, your father and I both as well as your sisters. You do us great honor, and we love you always…” The light disappeared then she stood. She went to Rosenlyn and said to her, “Go home, let your grandmother know of what you have witnessed. Let those who preceded me also know that all that they did to pave the way will be fulfilled. This I promise you all!” Rosenlyn and her hugged each other a long time then.

Etain then said, “ I will come to Bravil someday and visit your grandmother’s inn. Who knows maybe someday I can go to this island retreat and retire from the heavy burdens of this world.” She smiled then, kissed Rosenlyn on the forehead and said, “May the blessings of Azura be with you always Rosenlyn. Until we meet again.” She turned then and called out to Fanedal, lead the way to Whiterun if you would please.

Etain then said, “Oh and please let’s take the quiet path. I don’t want to come into Whiterun as someone special. Find me the secret ways into the city. To the Jarl’s household please.” Fanedal said, “I am really beginning to like you a lot Etain!” He disappeared down the trail and said, I will leave markers for you.”

They came up to Whiterun the long way around up through the Tundra and then Fanedal was waiting outside a sewer outlet. “My apologies but this will get us into the kitchen area where the stores are. We can go directly into where the Jarl holds his meetings when in court. We won’t be in them long!” Etain said, “Okay, show us the way!”

No one protested although Irileth thought to herself, “I would have been happy not going this way but if Etain could do it, so could she.” When they came out into the kitchen from the stores the Chef there said, hey wait a minute where did all of you…” But he saw Irileth with them and figured it must be something important.

They came into the great room of the Jarl. He was busy discussion something with the Steward, his brother, Hrongar was there as well. Irileth walked up to him and the Jarl was surprised to see her. She pointed over to the company. The Jarl said, “ Bring them upstairs. We need to take this conversation outside where there are less ears to hear. Have the chef bring us some bread, cheese, fruit, and drink as well.”

He stood up and told both the Steward and Hrongar to accompany him. They had some important company that had just arrived.” He then turned to Irileth again and said, “Irileth have the guards forbid entry once we are outside then come and join us. It’s good to have you back.”

They all followed them upstairs, Etain sensed the Jarl was trying to minimize her exposure to everyone and not have the news get lose all over Whiterun. Once outside he took them all to the large tables sitting outside. He turned then to Etain and said, “Please hold off any questions or concerns until after the chef and his help have come to serve us some bread, cheese, fruit and drink. Once they are gone we can speak freely.”

She nodded her agreement. The Jarl had noticed that Delphine was dressed in full Blade armor and had her Dragonguard Katana with her. He also noticed Hadvar and knew who he was even though he was not in uniform.

The food and drinks were served. The chef and his help escorted back inside. He said, “Please I know this must be urgent to be here suddenly like this but take some time to eat something and get some ale or tea. Then we can discuss what is going on in earnest.”

They all ate a bit except for Etain. She was still full of the meal at the campsite. She did however, sip on some really good hot herbal tea with honey in it. Then the Jarl looked at Irileth and said, “Could you please make introductions, there are some I know of course but others are complete strangers.”

Irileth rose and walked to each person, she introduced those she knew the Jarl likely knew, Hadvar, Fanedal, Alea the Huntress. Then she introduced Delphine because she was dress in The Blades official outfit. The Jarl spoke then, “So Delphine what brings you out of the shadows?”

Delphine said, “I was initially requested by Kyne herself to do so and fulfill my oath!” The Jarl exclaimed, “What, for that to happen then a…” Delphine replied, “Yes, and it is so.” He looked closely at the other two. He wasn’t sure which one, but he thought she had a feeling about her.

Irileth move to the man first, This is Kyne’s Champion. He was requested to come to Riverwood to assist by the divines themselves. There is no name other than Champion as they give up their identity once they commit themselves to this service. Then she came to stand behind Etain and said, This is “Etain, Saorlaith, Oralaith. Etain incarnated from before the first word of The Elder Scrolls was born, Saorlaith, of royal blood, a ruler yet to be, and Oralaith, empress and high queen of Nirn and the coming age.”

The Jarl said, “Is this some sort of joke or something?” Irileth became very serious then and said, “ She is who I said she is, of that there can be no doubt! Her father is Akatosh, her mother Saint Alessia, she is Dragonborn also and is by bloodline of Alessia’s blood. She and no other has the right to ascend the ruby throne in Cyrodiil and claim the title of Empress and High Queen of all Cyrodiil and Nirn.”

Hrongar came and knelt before her saying, “My sword and my life is yours to command my lady. “ Etain finally spoke, “Thank you Hrongar, your sword and your service will be needed in the future that comes. Although, it is my truest wish not to also have your life.” She stood then and said so we can put this to rest quickly, she stood up and walked to the outside wall of the patio. She unsheathed her sword and then knelt to one knee. She placed it point down into the stone and then said,

“Thus the line of that ancient bond is restored,

In her the blood that of the dragonborn flows,

Our daughter has come forth, the seal is now closed,

Of her blood the line is reborn, an Empire restored,

Through her line, peace will at last come,

Before you she submits to fate’s plea,

To the will of the Empire’s need,

And a Prophecy that is written in blood,

Will seal all our paths forever more.”

The Jarl rose and came and bowed before her. He said, “Forgive me I did not know. We knew there was a lot that had happened but not this.” Etain now rose and said, “No Jarl Balgruuf, please don’t. I have come not to have all bow before me but to restore the line of kings and have the empire take on a happier and humbler role.” She reached out and lifted him by his forearm. “May we please just forget about the formal rules of the royal courts for a while. We have a lot of really important news to discuss.”

Kyne’s Champion then spoke and said, “Now that she has been crowed the princess of the Alessia blood line. You all can see she wears not only the tiara of her mother but the armor, and the sword her mother had made for her. However, Etain is right, if she could live out a normal life, get married and have many children she would do so.”

Etain asked, “Can we all sit down; there is much we need to discuss and I will need all of you to provide me with your wisdom and guidance as we proceed forward.” The Jarl said, “I must say, I don’t believe I’ve ever meet a royal who didn’t want to be one.” Etain smiled, “Well you just met your first one!”

They all sat down and she looked at Hadvar. I need you to begin this. Everyone settle in this is going to be a long night. Also, when we’re done here. I will need a private place to bath if possible. I am bleeding again. Alea will you be able to assist?” Alea said, “Of course then she whispered something to Etain.

She smiled and said. “Jarl Balgruuf may I request that you send your Steward to fetch Danica for me, Alea could use her help afterwards. Also, I believe if you’re okay with it, have him fetch whatever companions are able to come and help provide service to me. I have made a great many enemies in a noticeably short time.” I think while I am here in Whiterun we will need to keep a watchful eye, more so then normal.”

The steward looked to the Jarl for orders, the Jarl said, “Whatever Etain wants.” The steward was getting ready to go and Etain called out, “Steward, keep it discrete please I don’t need a lot of attention right now. There’s already been one terribly angry dragon given more than my share of his attention. “A dragon lose in the hold of Whiterun!”

Etain smiled and said, “He’s currently licking his wounds and not too happy with me hiding somewhere. When I entered the temple of Sky Haven and the veil of amnesia he had place on me lifted. He was none too happy.” Jarl Balgruuf asked, “ Do you mean he knew of you, but for how long?” Etain said, “ That I am not sure of yet but…” Hadvar, please I really am hurting. We may have to take a break so Alea and Danica can help me clean up and stop the bleeding.”

Hadvar began, “Etain let us know when you need to break we’ll get you to a private bath somehow and maybe somewhere to sleep and get recovered.” Etain said, “It is because of the pilgrimage I made last night to the hidden temple of Azura on top of that mountain over there by the lake.” The Jarl said, “so it true, there is a temple to Azura on top the mountain? I had heard it was so, but no one ever returned from that climb to report their findings. “

Etain said, yes I joined Rosenlyn, an Acolyte to Azura up there for an extraordinarily long night of storytelling.” Hadvar asked, “May I…” Etain replied, “Of course but stick to the large events stuff we can cover the details in earnest tomorrow.”

Hadvar then said let’s begin with the fact that the dragon has completely destroyed Helgen. It came out of nowhere as we had captured Ulfric and some other Stormcloaks and he was aware of Etain and so attacked Helgen and killed every last soul there. We believe Etain, myself, possibly Ulfric, Geneal Tullius and several regulars on both sides may have escaped but there has been no confirmation as yet.”

The Jarl asked, “And Riverwood, what about it?” Hadvar replied, “Let say that Etain here when she was crowned princess saw to it that he could do nothing. There is a new tree of life growing there in the grove in Riverwood much like the Gildergreen. It has formed a specific protection he cannot get past. At least not yet. The Jarl of Falkreath is aware of all of this and has provided both men and women who have volunteered to assist and help protect the town.”

Danica arrived as did Kodlak and some other senior member of the Companions. The assumed guard stations there and Danica came over and presented herself to Kyne’s Champion who pointed to Etain, and she nodded then sat down to listen.

Hadvar began again, “Etain here has had a difficult time of it needless to say. We all here including Julian a scholar from Cyrodiil have sworn their allegiance to Etain.” Then he looked at her and asked, “How are you holding up?” Etain reached out to him and said, “Not too good. Is there somewhere I can go?”

Hadvar asked, “Before you do can we show the Jarl, so he knows why?” Etain replied, “Yes but only the top half. She stood up and walked as if in great pain. She turned and said Alea, show them. Alea unclasped the upper part of her armor and removed her sword and scabbard. They pulled her armor down from her shoulder and all could see the terrible scars all bleeding again.

The Jarl cried out, “Who did this to you and why and when?” Kyne’s Champion said, “She was no older than your children Jarl Balgruuf when this was done to her.” The Jarl began to cry thinking of his own children, then he said, “Why was this done to her?” The Champion said, “It is an exceedingly long story. Do you have somewhere we can take her to get her bathed, some fresh clothing to sleep in and a private bed where she can be guarded until she has recovered?”

The Jarl said, “Irileth take them and show them to my private quarters take them to the guest bathing area and show them the private quarter that is reserved for other Jarls and such that come here. Make sure she is guarded throughout the night.” He stood up then and said to Etain, “Take the night off, you need the rest and time to recover we can begin once you feel up to it tomorrow. “

The Jarl paused thinking, “In the meantime I would ask if you would mind if I send for the Jarl Of Falkreath and Nenya his steward as well as get Jarl Elisif from Solitude. Both are good people with a lot of connections. Elisif in particular is well educated and I think will be critical to have her support as we forge a plan forward for you.”

Etain said “Remember all must be kept discrete. If the Thalmor learn of me as well as Ulfric many will come to assassinate me as both would not want to see me arrive in Cyrodiil to claim my right to the Ruby throne.” “I’ll have Irileth make the decisions on who we can trust and make sure all communications are delivered discretely. Go now, get better my house is your house as long as you are here.” She reached out and hugged the Jarl saying, Thank you I shall remember who my friends were when someday I reach the Imperial City.”

They rushed her to the Jarl’s private quarters. Irileth cleared the way. She had some of the Jarl’s servants prepare the bathing area and then make ready the guest studio. One of the ladies saw her, her armor was still separated slightly, and she saw the bleeding scars. She cried out and said, “My lady, please excuse this humble servant but I am of the Order Of Meridian, She has spoken to me of your plight.”

Etain, was quickly fading Kyne’s Champion was there quickly, “What does Meridian ask? I am Kyne’s Champion.” The Servant who apparently was also an Acolyte for Merdian said, “She has sent some special oils that will help with what is happening to her. She told me to tell you the Dark Court knows and they are attacking her; it is why she bleeds again.”

The Champion said, “Come here!” He put his sword before him and said touch its hilt with both hands. It flared to life and he said to Alea and Danica, “Let her come with you.” Then he turned to her and asked, “ I take it you have been given instructions?” “Yes, of course, you must block them once we are in the bathing area. Seal the chamber. I know of another way into the guests studio. I will get you once we have her healed and resting there.” She then told him, “They are sending others here. Beware, they send their best, they do not want her to ascend.”

They quickly got Etain into the bathing chamber and disrobed her. The servant lady opened a potion bottle and began to speak to Meridian, “My lady of the light, one whose light shines the blessings of protection against those from the dark realms. I ask you to bless these waters as I pour your purity into them. Protect and heal her!” Alea and Danica watched as she stepped into the bath waters and began to pour the liquid into the waters. A pure light began to swirl and spread throughout its waters.

She then said, bring her here now. Into the waters, they helped to get Etain into the waters and position to where she can soak in them. She heard her moan then she opened her eyes and said, “Thank you, thank my sister Meridian.” The servant said, “She already knows my lady!” She told Alea and Danica, “We must get some wash clothes and coat everything her hair, her face.” Then she turned to Etain, “Close your eyes, gentle lady this will help.” They saw a bright flare around the chamber. She told the others, “It’s okay, Kyne’s Champion is blocking them from knowing where she is.”

They all saw a transformation come over Etain once the seal was in place, she gasped relief, as if some great burden had just been removed. It is working. Once she has time to heal, I know of a secret way to get her to the guest studio and to bed. Danica asked, “How did your lady Meridian know of this plot?”

She said, “It was Stendarr, the Aedric God of Mercy, Charity, Compassion, and Justice who came to her. His Acolyte is always tracking the movements of the dark courts and discovered their plans. She came to him and then was sent to my order. They prepared the potion and sent it to me here in the Jarl’s house. Stendarr is sending some of his best to help protect her. They should be here by morning. Until then we will have to protect her.”

After she soaked for a while, the Acolyte of Meridian said, “Get some night clothes for her so she can rest. I have something with me that will clean her armor, few things can. I will get it.“ She showed them the secret way to the studio, and they prepared her for bed. Once she was comfortable the Acolyte asked, “Where is her armor?” Alea said, “Here, I can bring it to you.” The Acolyte said, “Bring it to the main living quarters of this studio and place it on the manikin in the room.” Alea had done as asked.

Then this Acolyte of Meridian brought a staff with her. It had a star jewel embedded in its top. Danica said, “Is that the legendary Staff of Cleansing? I thought that had been lost.” The Acolyte replied, “ No not lost just hidden as its power can be corrupted by the dark court.”

She knelt then with the staff before her and bowed her head, with both hands wrapped around it. The star jewel at the top of it flared to life and its light flowed over Etain’s armor. The acolyte then stood and said,

“There it has been cleansed and now will help protect her without the need for Meridians Oils.” “Is she still sleeping, then come let me show you the other rooms reserved for the staff of the Jarls and others who come to visit here. All of you must be exhausted. I will stay and watch over her.”

There was a knock on the door. She said, “It is Kyne’s Champion and Irileth. It is okay!” They both came into the main living chamber and asked, is she, “Yes, she is resting peacefully now and the bleeding has stopped.”

Kyne noticed the staff she held and said, “That is a powerful artifact of Meridia.” The Acolyte replied, “Yes, I used it to cleanse and then place a protection on her mother’s armor. It will keep them from being able to attack her from the spiritual planes. Some of those in service to Stendarr will be here by morning. They are being sent to help detect any physical being sent to cause her harm. “

The night passed without any additional incidents and Etain awoke refreshened. She said, “Can someone bring me some hot tea, then help me get dressed. We need to meet again. Have the Jarl prepare the outside tables for other guests!” Etain paused then told them, “My mother and father came and spoke to me as I slept last night. Irileth said, “I will go and speak to the Jarl and get everything prepared.”

Etain said, “thank you Irileth.” Then she turned and left to speak with the Jarl. They prepared Etain for the audience with her closest friends and newly found allies.” When the doors were opened to the guest studio, Two knights of Stendarr stood there. Both fell to one knee and said, “Your brother sends his two best to help protect you my lady. We are pledged now to you as Stendarr has said, that your journey is a long one and will need the steadfast faith of his two best knights.”

Etain ordered, “Stand, knights of Stendarr. I will tell you what I have voice already; I have not come to command but to paved the path for a new age. An age will we all stand as equals.” Both stood as one, a bright young lady with sparking blue eyes and dark brown hair said, “Stendarr told us that you might not like that formal acknowledgement.”

The Knight paused then said, “However, he said to try, and if she points a different way forward then follow her. He also said that your creed is making him rethink how we, the Knights of Stendarr lead our way through the world.”

They all left the private quarters of the Jarl and went to the large outside area where the number of those in attendance had expanded. She surveyed the crowd gathered at the tables. She noticed the Jarl of Falkreath had come along with his Steward Nenya and his House Carl, but there were others here now too.

As she made her way towards the table, she sensed the threat before it even happened, In a movement faster than the eye could track she flung a pin from her hair into the air up to the upper balcony. There was a cry of pain, then she motioned her hands and a figure appeared before her with the pin stuck in his throat in such a way that he was temporarily paralyzed. The Knights of Stendarr had both drawn their swords and had their points stuck against his heart. No one moved waiting to see what she would do next.

Etain knelt before him smiling slightly, “So the dark court has wasted no time and sending their Acolytes to eliminate me. She said to the younger Knight. Hand me your amulet of Stendarr. She spoke to it, “With Purity, With Mercy This One Time, With Truth, Reveal Your Master.”

A missive appeared She pulled it from his belt and opened it up. It was a contract from the Morag Tong in Morrowind. Then she removed her blade and it sparked to life instantly. She saw fear in his eyes then as he knew that she was in fact all that they had been told. “Nocturnal, I command you by the power of my blood, by the right of my service to the Covenant of Old to appear, Now!”

There was a dark cloud that appeared then a figure stood before her surprised. All were watching her now. The Champion of Kyne, and the servant who was an Acolyte to Meridian stood there with Etain. Nocturnal said, “How did you do that, no one commands the Night Court! I was scheming with my sisters then suddenly I am here before you.”

Then she looked down and said, “Ah, you failed me. You know the payment for failure!” But Etain cried out, “No, Nocturnal! It is I who will pass judgement, not you!” Etain’s sword had flared to life and the red diamond in her tiara and sword were flaring with menace. No one moved, no one said a word. “ Nocturnal said to her, “Fine do what you want with him, he can no longer serve me! “

She tried to leave but could not. “What, just who do you think you are, anyway! Etain said, “You and your night court of sisters are powerless against me. I am of the Elder Blood; my inheritance predates your existence.” Nocturnal said, “What that cannot possibly be!” Etain said, “No, bow before me, and she commanded with force, Now!” Nocturnal could not resist and did as she asked. Nocturnal said, that has never been before. Etain said, “I am giving you this one chance to cease your foolish attempts. If not, you will have to answer to me when I ascend.”

Etain paused then said, when that day comes, “ I will abolish your planes of Oblivion and everything in them. Or you can become neutral. However, I warn you one more attempt on my life from your night court and you will have decided your own fate.” Oh and before I let you go, tell the Morag Tong that my father and mother are not pleased with them. They will be shown mercy this one time. However, one more misstep and they will have to answer to my father and mother. I would not wish that on anyone, would you?”

Nocturnal said, “May I stand, “Yes!” “Your father I take is in fact Akatosh, he that is first, the father of time?” “Yes!” “Your mother is Saint Alessia?” “Yes!” “You have a convincing argument Etain. I shall inform my sisters of your request, but I cannot account for their actions, only mine and you have my promise, I will stay neutral as far as you’re concerned.” She bowed slightly, this time more in respect then not.” Nocturnal then vanished as quickly as she had appeared.

Etain called out to Irileth, “Take this person to a high security cell. Do not let anyone remove that amulet from him. It binds him until I can decide his fate.” Irileth order some guards to come and drag him off to their special cell reserved for the worst criminals.

When she got to the table she notice General Tullius was there sitting next to a tall strong looking Nord warrior, Hadvar came to her and whisper, she is Legate Rikke, General Tullius is here because he has orders from the Imperial Counsel in Cyrodiil to advise and protect Elisif, the Jarl of Solitude. “

She walked over to where Elisif was and asked her, may we speak, I have a message for you from your Husband.” Elisif asked, “How is that possible? He was killed by Ulfric when he used the Thuum against him.” Etain came and hugged her, she didn’t know what to do. As she had not received such tenderness since her husband had been killed. “

My father has talk with Talos, he spoke to your husband. “ Talos has said, “Your husband wants you to know that his love for you is always. That you were and will always be the most important treasure he has ever been graced with!” Everyone there heard Etain relay this to Elisif and she hugged her back and began to weep.” Etain gently said to her, “It’s okay Elisif, I understand.” Elisif pulled away for a moment then said, “ I had heard you were different. But you have given me hope again, Thank you!”

“Your husband has said that as you once were a loyal and loving wife to him, turn your attention to helping Etain. She will need you in the long time ahead as she completes her journey to reshape the Empire.”

Etain paused a moment, then said, “Trust in her, she is true of heart!” She leaned in and kissed Etain on the cheek.” Then she went and sat down trying to compose herself. Etain had noticed Legate Rikke had listen with great interest.

However then Etain turned to General Tullius and said to him, “I know your duty to the Jarl here and to the Empire. But understand your lack of judgment has not gone unnoticed. What you do and how you present yourself shall determine your fate, General as I someday ascend to my place in Cyrodiil.”

General Tullius barked at her with menace, “ I saw what you did but I am not convinced, just because you command some hidden power and speak in a foreign language proves nothing!” Etain grabbed him by his tunic and lifted him up then said, “It was directly because of you that all those men, women, and children loss their lives in Helgen.”

Then she said “Did you see what he did to them? I did, I returned and felt them all. I relived each and every one of their last moments before being utterly destroyed by that dragon. I have bleed for you and the so-called counsel in Cyrodiil before the first word was written in the first Elder Scroll before this world was created.”

Etain looked him directly in the eyes, “ You having sworn an oath to the Empire. I am the Alessia Covenant Incarnated. The blood of the dragons flow through me, the line of Septims is my inheritance. Your allegiance is to me now. Do I make myself clear general!” She set him back down then turned and stepped to the outside wall of the great patio where they all had gathered. She raised her sword and blood began to flow from it to the stone, and it flared to life with a brilliant light that was almost blinding.

Then she cried out, “Huzrah Fin Rah Los Ahst Kein, Pa Do Vus, Los Ahst Tahrovin, Do Kos Du Kotin Volum!” , “Beware the gods are at war, all of Nirn is in danger of being consumed into darkness!” She cried aloud, “Sizaan Vahzen, Fin Covenant Los Dreh, Alok Rek Daar Aam Ahst Sos!”, “Lost Truths, The Covenant Is Done! Arise She That Serves In Blood!”

Then they all saw she was crying tears of blood that ran down her cheeks. A new voice arose above them all. “Look at what our daughter bears for all nations, all of Nirn, to save you all!” Then another voice was heard, “Know now that any who rise against her will face the wrath of Akatosh. I will level your cities into ash!”

All within that room were stunned at what they had just witnessed. A great light surrounded her and then Legate Rikke stood and came to her side, she knelt before her and then said, “Forgive them Etain, she that is the covenant reborn. They do not understand, I pledge my life and my sword to you, daughter of Alessia.”

She reached out and hugged Etain then Alessia said, “She does what no one else can do, Etain and her are bound by blood and love of a creed born before the first word was born in The Elder Scrolls. Do not hurt my daughter again, you have been warned!

Come Etain let me help you to your room, you need some rest before meeting with your intended advisors again. The Legate Rikke called out. “Can someone come and help me to return her to her quarters? Kyne’s Champion then came and spoke to General Tullius. “Kyne has commanded me to escort you out of the palace. You have been stripped of your rank for your second demonstration of being disloyal to the Empire. You are lucky you are not held for treason.”

“Talos wants me to tell you, if you move against the line of Alessia, the line of the Septims one more time. Your life will be forfeited by your own actions.” Then he turned to some guards, “Take the retired general and strip him of his armor and weapons, give them to Jarl Balgruuf for safe keeping for now.” Then Irileth said, “Provide him with simple clothing, some coin and walk him to the outside of Whiterun. Where he goes from here and what he does. Let him decide his own destiny.”

Etain was helped back to private quarters. The two Knights of Stendarr assumed their places outside her room to guard her. Alea, the servant who also served Merida and Danica helped her to change and got her tucked in and resting again.

Back at the patio the three Jarls met quietly with their Stewards. “We have to minimize any more chances that anything else could occur.” Jarl Elisf said, “Did you see her! She was crying tears of blood.” Nenya then said, “She is truly the daughter of Akatosh and Alessia.”

“We are living in a time of great change and Etain will need all of us to step up and take some of the burden from her.” A red-haired Steward of Elisif, Falk Firebeard said, “she is waiting for us to help, to act and to remove that burden from her. I don’t think she will ask it of us.” “Then let us begin planning what we can do to help her while she rests. I would like the next meeting to be a bit calmer for her, “ said Jarl Balgruff.

Elisif then spoke, “Did you hear what she told Tullius, that it was because of his bad judgement that the dragon came there and took all those lives. She said she walked among the remains and relived all their last moments. I can’t image how crushing that would be. How can one person continue to function with so much on her shoulders? “

Nenya said, “I have seen compassion from her never seen from someone who commands so much power. She is always so humbled, giving to everyone.” Elisif said, “I can’t believe what Tulius said to her. Did he not see what she just did to Nocturnal? You can’t command that type of power and not be who they say you are!” Then the Jarl of Falkreath said that we need to be careful. You heard the warning from her father and mother. They will not take kindly to any more missteps like those that just occurred!”

Nenya said, “Every time we see her again, the world shifts. It’s like she is reimaging the empire we currently live in.” Julian was there with them, “Have you not heard she has stated she is here to bring about a new era, a new age. I believe that before she reaches the Imperial City in Cyrodiil the world as we know it today will change. Her parents said she has come to complete the covenant. Just think of the implications of what that might mean!”

Etain slept at least in appearances. However, she felt herself drifting in the mysterious mist of Aetherius. “Where am I she asked? Why have I been brought here?” She begin to see a physical world take shape. Then she heard, “I have you brought you here daughter. This place exist outside of time. No one other than myself and your mother know you are here.”

Etain began to float downward and landed on a stone pathway surrounded by ancient statues. Each statue had a dragon standing next to it, some were men and other were ladies. Etain then asked, “Father, where is she? Where is my mother?” Her father replied, “She waits for you beyond! I wanted you in this place outside of time, so that I might look upon my daughter. Long has it been since we held you, you were our most beautiful creation. A spark that spanned across many worlds, one before time, the other between, and the third the mortal whelm where you now sleep.”

“Father, you know I love you but why? Help me to understand. Share what you can. I am ever humbled by your love for me and my mother.” You already know that answer daughter. The very foundations of creation are at war. It is a war of ideas, desires, philosophy, and virtues.”

Etain then knelt on one knee. “Father you know how hard this is on me. I want to have what you and mother share. A life with someone I can love, a world where we can live out the long years of our days together, I want to have children and hold them each and every day. Love them and guide them as you both have done for me.”

There was silence in the great void between. Only those strange sentinels stood witness to this scene between a father and his daughter. “Father, who are these sentinels all who have dragons alongside of them? “Etain, each of them represent the line of those who sacrifice much so we may have this moment in this time together. ” There was silence that fell between them for a moment. Her father then asked her, “You hear the one crying?” “ Yes, I do.” “Go to her, she will lead you to a path that will take you to your mother.” The echo of the crying fell and echoed in the void like a gentle rain.

Then her father said, “Etain my daughter. You will have all of those things, but there is much to do before that can happen. You are the way; you are the only one that can lead not only the world of mortals but all of them together towards a new age.” Then he said, “It was good to see you daughter. Know that your mother and I love you very much. When darkness comes into your heart remember us, and we will light the way! Follow the path ahead, she is waiting for you, the one that cries. Find her and set her free.”

Her father was gone then, she sensed it was just her now, the strange statues, and the crying that dripped like rain somewhere ahead.” She stood and walked the strange path before her. This place was strange, it was physical in some ways, but not in others.

She walked a long path between that led between the statues. When she got to the end there was a long space of emptiness between her and a doorway. The crying was coming from somewhere behind the doorway.

She closed her eyes and then something happened to her. Her spirit leapt ahead and walked across the open air to the other side. Then her physical form was virtually pulled to it. They merged again, she opened her eyes, and she stood before the closed door with the crying behind it.

She reached for the handle, turned it and then the door opened inward. There alone in a room sat a young girl, sitting on a wooden chair holding a doll, weeping gently. As Etain approach the girl she sensed someone else was there. She turned and then stood up. There before her stood a little girl with Auburn hair and eyes that sparkled like two emerald gems. She came to Etain and hugged her. She said to her, “You found me, come, she is waiting for you.” Etain held her too. Then Etain said, “You seem familiar, like I should know you. “Come follow me, we need to hurry, time slips away in the mortal world. You need to see her before it does.”

Etain asked again, “See who?” The little girl grabbed her hand and said, “Follow me.” They walked out of the room. Both holding hands, she followed the walked down some stone stairs that had appeared. They turned a corner then before them a path lit up that stretch out into the darkness that surrounded them. “

Etain looked out into this great void and saw ghostly figures forming and vanishing again. Some were young, like children. Others were adults, and still others were old.” Etain asked, “Who are they?” The little girl said, “They are echoes of all who have come before. All of those who came to light the way for you!”

The little girl looked up at Etain and said come, follow the light. They both walked together across through the mist on a walkway that was forming and disappearing again as they passed. When they got to the end a room formed. A prison cell and there was a familiar feel to it. As if she knew this place.

Etain knelt down before the young girl. She asked, “Who are you?” The little girl reached out and hugged her, then kiss her on the cheek. She then said, “ Here, take this with you. You have set me free! Go now, mother waits for you.” Etain asked, “But what about you, I can’t just leave you behind in this place. She smiled and said I will not be here long; you have set me free! “

Then she heard her say, “Follow the light across the void, there will be a lighted doorway at its end, step through it. Hurry now, we are running out of time.” Etain turned to look at the walkway that shone like clouds lit up with starlight. She turned back to say goodbye, but the room had vanished as well as the little girl.

However, there in her hand was a little doll with auburn hair and buttons that were like green eyes. Etain turned back then to the lighted way before her and began to walk across it. It seemed like it went on for a long time. But a doorway that looked like a portal of light formed before her. She looked back and saw that all was dark behind her. So she stepped through and found herself in another place now. This place was ancient but there were skies and ground below.

Etain was simply walking across thin air. Before her she saw in the distance a grown figure standing there. As she got closer she now saw that there were many children with her. They were from many different races. Some of which had been gone from the world of Nirn for a long time now.

When she got there the lady who had red hair and bright blue eyes said, “Daughter, come and join us for a bit.” Etain said, “Mother is that you? I miss you so much! Can’t I just stay here with you and these other children?”

“Etain, my daughter, all of these children need you to free them as you have seen when you met that other little girl in the Void beyond Time. They are here with me, so I can protect them. As your father told you, we love you very much. However, you are needed not just by them back in the mortal world, but these children too.”

Go, and fulfill your destiny Etain. There at the end of your journey all that you wish for will come true.” Her mother came and hugged her, kissed on the forehead, her finger lit up like the brightness of a newly formed star. She touched it on her Etain’s lips then she felt herself falling back through a gray mist.

She suddenly awoke and sat up straight confused and looking like she was lost. Danica was there, “Etain, “Are you okay. We’re all here for you. What can we get you?” Etain, where did that doll come from? Why it looks just like you.” She looked down and saw the doll the little girl had given her was lying on her pillow next to where she had been sleeping.”

Etain said, “A friend gave it to me. Can we get me ready? I need to meet with the Jarls and their stewards. Have them prepare things.” Danica got up and went to the spare guest rooms and Alea and the servant lady, Acolyte of Meridia came out as well. She noticed the servant had looked at the doll lying up on her pillow and smiled. Etain chose to say nothing about it though. “Come on Etain, the bath waters should be ready for you. Then we can get you ready and join the Jarls and their Stewards for breakfast.”

She was prepared and they all made their way out to the patio where the Jarls and their stewards were gathered along with her most trusted friends. She noticed Rosenlyn standing off to the side. She said good morning to all and then pointed to Rosenlyn.

She whispered to them, “When did she arrive?” Elisif said, “It was early this morning.” Etain then asked, “Why is she not seated at the table?” “We don’t know that she said she need a private moment with you and then she’ll join us.” She also said, I hope the food is good or I will have to find you a new chef.” Etain laughed along with those who knew who Rosenlyn was.

Etain said, “If you could excuse me for a moment. Let me talk to her, then we can all sit down and enjoy breakfast together. She walked over to where Rosenlyn stood. She was quiet at first. Then she told Etain, “You know I love this view from up here. It reminds me a lot of the view on the pilgrim’s way up the hidden shrine and temple of Azura doesn’t it?”

Etain looked out across the great vista, she let the warm air that lifted up from the Tundra mix with the cold winds that blew down from the mountains.” Rosenlyn then asked, “You feel it too don’t you? “ Etain said, “Feel what? “Change in the winds.” Etain asked, “Is everything alright Rosenlyn?” Rosenlyn said, “You know I love that about you; you just see beyond the veil of disguises and tell everyone what they hold onto so tight.”

Etain reached out and place her hand softly on her shoulder. Then she said, “I am here for you Rosenlyn if you need to talk. Rosenlyn turned and wrapped her arms around her and pulled in tight.

Then she said in a low voice to her, “What you did last night was so touching and you got to visit with your father and mother! Oh, and you do know who the little girl was right, the one that gave you the doll?”

Etain stepped back and asked, “How did you know that? My father told me no one knew where we were, that we were outside of time.” Their voices was loud enough now that all sitting at the table heard them. Julian whispered, “Why has no one said she left last night, I thought she was being watched all the time.” The two Knights of Stendarr look at each other and said, “We both kept checking on her, she was sleeping restfully the whole night.”

Then they heard Rosenlyn say, I was with Azura in the mountain temple when your father pulled you away. We know of that place because the lady and man both know of it too. The ones in the story that Azura told you about.” Etain asked, “Why would they be there?” Rosenlyn said, “Remember, Azura told you that he too was of the Alessian blood line. He was gravely injured, long story and Akatosh took him there so he would not die, the place between. “

Rosenlyn paused a moment, “Last night though it was different for you then for him. I think you’re father creates something different depending on the needs of the person he pulls to that place.
