Then the kinder voice, the one who first spoke to Asharlyn said to her, “You are the singer, the storyteller, the shaper of tomorrows for many. We apologize, but we had to be sure. The battle ahead is one that all that is good will be either won or lost.”
Asharlyn stood there looking towards the great crystal windows of the temple. Tears were running down her cheeks, her eyes swollen shut from the pain of what had just occurred, then the new voice said, with reverence, “Look! She writes the songs of life upon these halls; we have not seen this in ages beyond recall. Never has it been so vivid, so rich with truth. Her spirit is so pure, the songs so clear.”
The other voice said, “She will need others, this path we set her upon is too big, even for one of her powers.” The second voice replied, “It is already in motion, her path will determine who shall come to aid, amongst those I request that he that stands in service to you. I know he is part of your blood, and it should be by your choice, but the need is great as you can see, is it not?”
The second voice looked upon Asharlyn, and a tear dropped upon her head, rolled down her forehead to her shut eyes. Then she said to her, “I am the teacher. Let your eyes be opened, let your heart be healed, let him who has stood for so many before, now stand for you alone. I give this as my blessing and a gift to you our daughter.”
Asharlyn felt something wet hit her face, then penetrate her swollen eyes. It then seeped into her mind, her heart and soul. It overwhelmed her in her current state, and she began to fall. This time however , a hand swept down and grabbed her. It took her and lifted her fallen form then laid it down in a warm bed with a fire burning brightly to chase away the shadows.
Sleep our daughter with restful dreams, happy ones, and tomorrow we will begin our lessons.” The teacher then turned towards the other and said, “Are you sure, now is the time of the age of the two rings?” Silence, then the other replied, “Yes, it has been written since before the first spark and so it has come to pass, and the singer of stories is here to pave the way forward towards a brighter tomorrow for everyone. “
Then, the other voice, now known as the teacher, said in response, “I shall stay here with her this night. I would like to watch over her to make sure she awakens a new person. She will need to be prepared for what lies ahead.” The other responded, “Then you know the prophecy of what it says my friend!” The teacher replies, “yes I do.”
The teacher then began to recite the following verse:
“The kingdom of Rhiannon healed of darkness, bathed in light, this is the promise of destiny, etched like runes upon their souls. That life be written upon their hand, in characters of gold, let its meaning light the way for all others, seeker of the land, of what’s right of the grace to come from her hand. Stanza’s of notes trace the arcs of words, in search of its guiding light.
We are not one alone in this, this chorus formed from the cosmic dust, The words once invoked become all that has come before. One in us in whom we place our trust. Upon the murals of tomorrow, where time itself will sway. Are the truths of this day, as old as the stars dance at play.
Two rings are now one, bound in a covenant strong. From their joining, they will come to right what has been wrong. The children of prophecy written, in threads of destiny spun. Of ancient blood, through ages glide, until the end is none.
And as we stand here beneath heavens, where celestial beings thread. All creation, a witness to our vows across the heavens spread. I see the future shimmering, bright as the first morning’s dawn. A tapestry of wings, dancing in a hopeful dream. Where two rings are joined, in a never-ending seam.”
Peace permeated all within this room and Asharlyn slept dreaming of happy times, before the events that tore her world apart. Those events had place her on this path of pain and endurance. As she slumbered in a restful, healing, sleep. A figure watched over her until the first rays of daylight pierced the small windows of colored glass set along the ceiling of this sleeping chamber. Then, a thought pierced her awareness, “Today, you shall begin the true story of your life and live anew!”
Asharlyn became aware that she was waking from a deep, restful sleep. She slowly opened her eyes, then remembered the voice saying to her, “Today, you shall begin your true story…”
Asharlyn continued to lay there enjoying the warmth of her covers, the fell of the silky clothes against her skin. She began to remember the pain of what had transpired the night before. The power that had come alive within her and sang out painting the stories of life upon the tiles of the rotunda.
Asharlyn contemplated, “Who was she, what was this power that had come alive from some hidden place within her. Who were these beings who spoke to her but never showed themselves?” Then she remembered the words about her essence having existed before the first spark that created this world.
Then a kind voice said, “Come, prepare for the journey yet to come. We have much to do before you leave us. Asharlyn, I am sorry for treating you so harshly. I ask that you find forgiveness in your heart.”
